Dear Parents

Please note that we have had to change the starting dates for two of our clubs.

Funky Street Dance Club with Rachel Cole for children in Year 3 – Year 6 will now be starting on Wednesday 3rd February and will run each Wednesday.  Due to some extra funding, we will now be able to offer this club at a subsidised price of £1.00 per week.  There are still spaces for girls and boys in this club.  If your child would like to join, please let Mrs Spires know in the office as soon as possible.

Gym Club  will now start on Thursday 4th February 3.15 – 4.15pm in the Hall.  There is no charge and there are spaces in this club.  It is now open to Year 2 to Year 6 children.    Again, please see Mrs Spires if your child would like to join.

Cross Country running practice

We have been invited to participate in the cross country championship at Moreton In Marsh Fire College again this year in February.  Mrs Lanfear and Mrs Hall will be taking the children out onto the sports field for practice on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes, so please ensure that your children have some appropriate clothing and trainers with them in school on these days if they wish to participate.

SNOW

Dear Parents

As you are aware inclement weather is expected tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.  Heavy snow is forecast during the morning and it may be that we will have to close the school early.

We will endeavour to remain open, but please check the snowline information http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/closedschools and be aware that we may have to contact you during the morning.

Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents

Trip to the Living Rainforest

Friday 5th February 2010

As you know our topic for this term for the whole school is the Rain Forest, and we are hoping to take all the children on a fantastic trip to the Living Rainforest in Berkshire on Friday 5th February.

We will be leaving school at 9.15am and returning to school at approximately 3.30pm.  The children will need to bring a packed lunch with them in a named disposable bag and wear school sweatshirts for easy identification.

More information about the Living Rainforest can be found at their website: www.livingrainforest.org

The PTA have kindly agreed to fund the cost of the coach for this trip and so we are able to charge just £5.10 per child.  I am sure you will agree that this is amazing value for what will, I am sure, be a wonderful, interesting and enlightening trip for the children.  I must stress that any financial contribution would be entirely voluntary and that your child would not be denied a place on the trip just because you declined to make a voluntary payment.   However, the school will not continue with the visit unless it is clear that there will be sufficient voluntary contributions to cover the costs.

Please complete the slip below and return it to school as soon as possible

Best wishes

Dear Parents

We are very excited to tell you about a visitor we have coming to our school!  Michael Roach is a cultural arts performer, and has promoted African-American culture through the use of blues music.  After spending several years learning directly from such well known figures as John Jackson, John Cephas and Jerry Ricks, Michael Roach has developed his own style and is now an exceptional performer. He interacts with his audience and he entertains as he plays.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer this performance to the children and would like to offer parents, friends and relatives the chance to participate also.

Michael will be here with us on Friday 12th February at 2.00pm in the school hall.  Tickets are available for parents priced £1.50 each and are available from the school office.

To help cover the cost of this performance we will be asking for a donation from each child of £1.50.  I must stress that any financial contribution would be entirely voluntary and that your child will not be denied a place just because you have declined to make a voluntary contribution.   However, the school will not be able to continue with this visit unless it is clear that there will be sufficient voluntary contributions to cover the costs.

Best Wishes

Dear Parents

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the people who have helped the school during the recent snowy weather.  Your commitment and support of the school has made a real difference to the start of the New Year.  Let’s hope we can look forward to some more settled weather as we head towards Spring.

Thinking about Spring, we have an exciting and new line up of after school clubs starting soon at school and we are hoping to encourage as many children to attend as possible.
