Little Urchins Playgroup at Andoversford Primary School has been running since September 2008.

We care for children from the term in which their third birthday falls until the age of 5 years.  Our sessions currently run from 9.00am until 12 noon Monday to Thursday with two sessions on Monday from 9.00am until 12 noon and 12 noon to 3.00pm (children can access both sessions on Monday, having a packed lunch in the school hall).

The classroom is light, warm and welcoming with a wide range of activities for the children to use and located next door to the Infant classroom.    We also have access to excellent outdoor play areas suitable for dry and wet weather and access to a purpose built log cabin in the grounds of the school.

Staff are approachable and friendly and fully committed to fulfilling the group's aims to provide a safe, challenging, stimulation, caring and sharing environment that is sensitive to the needs of the children and their families, having regard to special educational needs, racial origin, cultural, religious and linguistic background.

Some of the activities we regularly enjoy are:

Construction toys - (lego, wooden blocks, duplo, mobilo)

Small world play - (doll's house, garage and cars, farmyard)

Cooking - (cakes, pizza, fruit salad, biscuit icing)

Music - (song time, instruments, dance and movement)

Outdoor toys -(trikes, scooters, climbing frame, slide, trampolines)

Mark-making - (crayons, chalks, paints and pencils)

Craft- (junk modelling, sticking and playdough)

Role Play - (home corner, dolls and prams, dressing up)

Puzzles - (table-top, floor, 3D wooden blocks)

Our Parent and Toddler group runs from Playgroup  on Friday mornings from 10.00 - 12.00pm.  Please feel free to drop in for a play, coffee and chat.
