What is Pupil Premium Funding?
The ‘Pupil Premium’ grant was introduced by the government to provide additional support for the children who are eligible for free school meals. This money is given to schools over and above their main funding and is seen as the mechanism for schools to address possible inequalities between eligible children and their peers. The Secretary of State for Education allocates the additional funding for two policies:
Schools decide how Pupil Premium is spent since they are best placed to assess the provision that is required for eligible children. At Andoversford School we support all of our children. We do this by providing high quality teaching, supplemented by interventions targeted to support vulnerable learners when required. The impact of Pupil Premium is monitored by the Leadership team and the Governing Body of the school.
Who is eligible for Pupil Premium Funding?
