Future Term Dates
We all have very busy lives with lots of different things to keep track of. The school website has just been updated with future term dates for the next 2 years. You can now see the INSET Dates for 2026-27 and the Term Dates for 2027-28. Please note that the dates for 2027-28 do not yet incude INSET days.
The school year is made up of 195 days. Children are required to be in school for 190 days, with 5 days which are organised for training and development for school staff.
Governor Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move through a busy term, governors would like to thank pupils, staff and families for their continued support of the school community.
Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to the Friends of Andoversford for their continued hard work in supporting the school. The recent Colour Run was a fantastic success and a wonderful event for the children, raising over £800 for the school. Thank you to everyone who helped organise and support the event.
As many of you will be aware, governors are currently progressing the recruitment process for a new Headteacher for September. This is an important responsibility for the Governing Board and we are committed to appointing the very best leader for the school’s next chapter. We will keep parents updated as soon as we have more news to share.
Recruitment is also underway to appoint a new teacher following Miss DW’s news that she will be leaving to take up a position at another school. We want to thank her for her valuable contribution to the school to date and wish her every success in her new role in September.
We were also very sorry to hear of Mrs Beaton’s recent diagnosis. She remains very much in the thoughts of staff, governors, pupils and families, and we send her our very best wishes for her upcoming treatment.
Finally, governors would like to thank all staff for their continued dedication and commitment to supporting every child during a particularly busy period for the school.
Please feel free to feedback with any comments or suggestions of what you would like to hear more about in these newsletters by contacting chair@andoversford.gloucs.sch.uk or if you’d like to become a governor and further support the school, please reach out to clerk@andoversford.gloucs.sch.uk
Kind regards,
Nicki Jarvis on behalf of the Full Governing Board
Oak Class News
Dear Oak Class Families,
I hope you have had a restorative break in the sun.
This half term we will be very busy in Oak Class. The children will be continuing their swimming lessons, along with ball games coaching, cricket coaching and some gymnasics sessions. I am sure it is going to be a very enjoyable and productive half term. However, there is a lot of different kits to remember! I have updated the 'What do I need today?' poster on the Oak Class webpage to help with this. I will also be happy to print out any copies of this, if you could just let me know.
Thank you for your support. Here's to a fun-filled half term!
Miss DW

Have your say about SEND in Gloucestershire
Help Shape the Future of SEND Provision in Gloucestershire
More children and young people need specialist support than ever before. Demand for SEND places has risen significantly over the last decade, including in early years, mainstream schools and special schools.
To make sure we can meet these needs now and in the future, Gloucestershire County Council developed a new SEND Sufficiency Strategy for 2026–2031. The strategy sets out how they plan to ensure there are enough of the right types of provision, in the right places, at the right time.
Your views matter
Gloucestershire County Council have launched a public consultation on the strategy, and they want your views to help shape how specialist educational provision in Gloucestershire will look in the years ahead.
