Literature Festival Trip

17 September 2021 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head))

Great News! We have been able to book for every class to visit an author at the Cheltenham Literature Festival this year! On Friday 8th October, we will be going on a whole school trip.

Ash and Oak Classes will be watching Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet talk about Supertato and Friends. Beech Class will be seeing Rashmi Sirdeshpandi, author of How to Change the World. Willow Class will be learning more about the Crater lake series written by Jennifer Killick.

The whole school will be travelling together to the festival at Imperial Gardens by coach. We will be leaving school at 9:30 and will return in time for lunch as normal.

As it is such a fantastic opportunity, the school are subsidising the cost of the tickets and the transport. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £10 per child to help towards the cost of this event. Your child will not be denied a place on the trip if you decline to make a voluntary contribution. However, we will not be able to continue with the visit if it clear that there will be insufficient contributions to cover the costs. In an effort to become a ‘cashless’ school, payment should be made online via ParentPay.

Please can you make your voluntary payment, or let us know if you do not wish to make a contribution, by Friday 24th September 2021.

The trip takes place on Friday 8th October, which is also the date when we will be holding a ‘Hello Yellow’ fundraising event for Young Minds – a children’s mental health charity. Children should wear school uniform with an item of yellow, e.g. a T-shirt, jumper, hairband, socks or tights.
