Happy Holidays

17 December 2021 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head))

Phew! What a term! It was fantastic to see so many of you at the Christmas Production on Wednesday evening - a real festive treat and a great way to end the term.

This term, despite all the challenges, has been so productive. The work completed in class has been fantastic quality and the children talk confidently about their learning all around school. We were able to end the term with an outdoor assembly today. It was wonderful to have the whole school together to celebrate our efforts and say some goodbyes. A big 'Thank You' to Mrs Christopher who has now completed her first student placement and is moving on to the next school to broaden her experience. We also say 'Goodbye and Thank You' to Miss Davis-Butler, who has been a fantastic asset to our team for the last few years. She has some exciting times ahead, and we wish her all the best.

During the assembly, the children shared some great ideas to help out parents at home over the holidays so look forward to lots of support over the next two weeks. They tell me that they will not be arguing with their siblings, they will help with the washing up and will be helping to feed the pets as well! We know that the holidays, especially with the pandemic causing so much havoc, can be a stressful time, so children also shared ideas they could use to help themselves reduce stress and stay calm. Mindful colouring and Breathing Techniques were at the top of the list!

We would like to wish the school community a very Merry Christmas from the whole team at Andoversford. We look forward to seeing you in 2022!
