Update of Covid-19 Restrictions

28 February 2022 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head))

Welcome Back! It is lovely to see the daffodils popping up and it definitely feels more spring-like in school today!

Over the half-term break, there have been some changes to the government's guidance about living with Covid-19 and the end to legally enforced self-isolation. The advice for schools, Actions for Schools, has also been updated to reflect these changes. At Andoversford Primary School, we have carefully used the up to date guidance from the DfE and the Local Authority to update our own Risk Assessments. This can be found on our website: https://www.andoversford.gloucs.sch.uk/parent-information/covid-19-information

Asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended for individuals, however we are still being asked to look out for the main symptoms of Covid-19. If someone has any of the main symptoms, they should book a PCR test as soon as possible. New advice has been issued for individuals who have Covid-19, which states: 'if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.'

In School, we have 4 main control measures to follow:

  1. Ensure good hygiene for everyone
  2. Maintain appropriate cleaning regimes
  3. Keep occupied spaces well-ventilated
  4. Follow public health advice on testing, self-isolation, and managing confirmed cases of Covid-19

We also have a contingency plan in place, which sets out how we will step measures up or down depending on our local situation. You can find links to the full guidance from our website.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
