Recommended Read for International Women's Day- Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World!

8 March 2023 (by Megan Thomas (MThomas))

This International Women's Day, our recommended read is 'Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World' by Kate Pankhurst.

This fun but informative picture book is full of inspirational females who made the world a better place. There are now further books in the series- ... Saved the Planet, ... Made History and ... Worked Wonders. The original is a huge hit in Beech Class, but it would definitely be enjoyed by both older and younger readers alike!

Marie Curie, Frida Kahlo, Mary Seacole and Rosa Parks didn't set out to be thought of as 'great' but, instead, followed their passions and did what they thought was right to make the world a better place.

Written and illustrated by a descendant of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, this colourful picture book is full of facts about 13 inspirational women from history. It showcases some of their great achievements in a fun and accessible way for younger readers.

A double-page spread for every woman features an overview of her main achievement with additional 'Did you know?' facts alongside bright and colourful illustrations of these incredible women and their achievements.
